Hi Asa, I think you nicely discuss how the population of HIV positive men receiving care at the HIV clinic in San Francisco differ from the general population of HIV positive men. If I understood correctly, I think your intervention aims at increasing STC screening, so I was wondering if the primary target population wouldn't rather be the physicians who order screening tests rather then the patients themselves? Or does your intervention primarily aim at increasing uptake of screening by the patients?

Looking forward to further discuss in class!

Hi Asa,

Great work overall. I think you made some great points in your assignment. I think we all can work on defining our S1 and S2 to be more specific. Selection bias in your situation could be highly problematic since those who already present to the clinic are more likely to uptake new testing/screening etc. It may be interesting to look at how to get the other portion of the population into clinic for these specific tests.

Hi Asa,

Because your intervention is specifically one that decreases the burden of coming to clinic, maybe that will decrease the selection bias towards people who present to clinic. In fact, you might see a large positive effect of increased screening with freely available self-testing in your population that you might not see in a more stable population.
