To all enrollees in Publishing & Presenting Clinical Research:
Thanks for submitting your second course assignment focused on the manuscript introduction section. For those of you who went with Option 1, you’ll receive feedback from Carrie Gibson or myself in the next two weeks.
For those of you who went with Option 2, a video demonstration of one approach to editing the draft introduction of a sample research manuscript about a smoking cessation intervention study is now posted on the course syllabus at the end of module 2.
If you haven’t yet done so, please block out your schedule for a special live interactive Zoom session on Tuesday, May 19, which is our Journal Editor Roundtable session. A panel of UCSF professors who are also editors-in-chief or senior editors at peer-reviewed clinical journals will be sharing their perspective on the manuscript submission and review process, answering pre-specified questions, and also taking additional questions from those of you in attendance.
We’ll be starting that session at 3:15 pm (rather than the usual 3 pm) just to make sure all our panelists are ready and connected with working audio and video questions on the day. Carrie Gibson and I will give a brief introduction and moderate the discussion. The Zoom webinar link and information is below and is also posted in the syllabus:

Note that we may allow additional TICR alumni or students to attend, and it’s OK if you want to share the webinar link with selected others that you think might be especially interested. However, we can't accommodate requests to share the session recording with others afterwards, since session recordings are restricted to course enrollees.
