Dear enrollees in Publishing & Presenting Clinical Research:
Just a reminder that your third assignment for this course is due by this coming Tuesday, May 19, at noon. Note that there was originally an error on one of the assignment template documents suggesting that the deadline was “Tuesday, May 21”—this is now corrected.
Once again you have two options for this assignment. The first option is to submit both a table and a figure presenting the same data from your own research project in two different ways, along with text summarizing these data and interpreting their significance.
The second option is to review and make edits to the results section of a sample manuscript about a smoking cessation intervention project. Please use the templates and upload link posted on the on-line syllabus, and remember to incorporate your name and assignment number directly in your document name.
And remember that we also have a live Journal Editor Roundtable webinar on Tuesday, May 19. A panel of UCSF professors who are also editors-in-chief or senior editors at peer-reviewed clinical journals will be sharing their perspective on the manuscript submission and review process, answering pre-specified questions, and also taking additional questions from those of you in attendance.
We’ll be starting that session at 3:15 pm (rather than the usual 3 pm). Carrie Gibson and I will give a brief introduction and moderate the discussion. The Zoom webinar link and information is below and is also posted in the syllabus:
