Assignment #2: Coding and Memoing on Project Data
Carry out initial data coding and memo writing on project data. Based on this experience, develop a 2 page (single-spaced) analytical diary that documents your work. This diary should document the codes you develop (including those adopted and discarded), experiences applying the codes to your data, and self-reflexive and substantive memos.
Note: if you do not have your own data, please pair with someone in the class who had data that you can help to analyze.
*Please make sure that all posted data is de-identfied (i.e. does not contain PHI)*
Due date:
1) Upload to course website by Thu, Oct 29 @ noon
2) Comment on at least 2 colleague's assignments by Thu Nov 5 @ noon. Comment on parts of your colleague's coding that a) made sense to you and were well substantiated by data exemplars; b) were confusing and/or didn't seem substantiated by the data exemplars provided; and c) also note how reading your colleague's work changed how you might think about coding and memoing.
